KK HERITAGE WALK

Most local agencies organize a walking tour of the city and its historic monuments. The tour includes several stops, the most significant of which are Padang Merdeka, the Atkinson Clock Tower, completed in 1905 in honor of Francis George Atkinson, the first district chief, the First World War memorial, the Jesselton Hotel, thetourist office building (one of only three to survive the bombings of the Second World War),Australia Place and an old café, The Kopitiam.
