MASJID NEGERI SULTAN ABU BAKAR (MOSQUE)
The Johor State Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Ibrahim as a tribute to his father Abu Bakar. Built between 1892 and 1900 by architect Tuan Haji Mohamed Arif bin Punak and engineer Dato' Yahya bin Awalluddin, it blends English Victorian style, Moorish ornamentation and local influences. The four octagonal minarets, reminiscent of 19thᵉ century British clock towers, are among its most distinctive architectural features. It accommodates up to 2,000 worshippers and dominates Bukit Timbalan hill, offering panoramic views.
