Two events in the square are well worth a visit:

Watch the capoeiristas train. Every Sunday from 5 p.m., you can attend a roda, a musical round where players compete with suppleness and vigor.

Attend the picolette singing competitions. Early in the morning, from 6 a.m., men compete to see which bird has the most beautiful song. Only the males can take part, and their masters can win a handsome sum. Competitions usually end in the late morning, due to the heat.

La place en elle-même a peu d'intérêt, contrairement aux bâtiments qui l'entourent (palais présidentiel, maisons de briques,...).
En revanche, le chant des picolets dans leurs cages disposées sur la place le dimanche matin est un enchantement.
