Pijibasal is an Embera community located on the slopes of Cerro Pirre, on the banks of the river. Its name comes from the abundance of pijiba (pixbae or pifa), a palm whose fruits are cooked and used in dozens of local recipes. The village has infrastructures to welcome visitors: a dairy farm, a house of culture with toilets and a traditional kitchen. You can hire a local guide to go to Cerro Pirre and participate in many activities: body painting, cooking, dances, trails.
