Located where the waters reconstruct the Jordan River, Yardenit is a sacred place for Christian pilgrims. Every year, more than half a million people visit it. Note that this is not the presumed site of the baptism of Jesus (named Qasr el Yahud), which is on the border with Jordan, 110 km south, near Jericho.
