The Baha'i Gardens of Acre form a vast circular complex surrounding what was once the home of the religion's second prophet, Baha'u'llah, before it became his shrine. It is a very holy place for members of the Baha'i faith, who come here on pilgrimage. The gardens beautifully combine Persian (flowers), European (marble) and local (olive trees) elements, and have also been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2008. Nearby, a sanctuary will soon house the remains of Abbas Effendi, son and religious successor of Baha'u'llah.
