Inaugurated in 1996, the Peres Center for Peace is a modern building that stands at the end of the Jaffa Promenade on the beachfront. The contemporary building was designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, the famous Italian architect. It was founded by Shimon Peres, former Prime Minister of Israel and Nobel Peace Prize laureate with the ambition to promote peace initiatives between Israel and its Arab neighbours, particularly the Palestinians.
