Midron Yafo means "the slope of Jaffa" in Hebrew: it is a large 25-hectare coastal park along the Ajami district and the sea, between the port of Jaffa and the beach of Givat Aliyah. Prior to the construction of this park, this area was a large open dump, a wasteland that disfigured the waterfront. The municipality has turned it into a pleasant park, with bicycle paths, sports facilities, tables... Cannons placed at the upper entrance to the garden bear witness to the conquest of the city by Napoleon's army in 1799.
