Egged is the largest bus company in Israel. Established in 1933, it is a cooperative, owned by its members. The bus routes serve the entire country and reach most towns, cities, kibbutzim, and moshavim. They also provide urban transport in most Israeli cities. To board the Egged buses, you will need to purchase a Rav Kav smart card and load it with credit. However, it is possible to buy a ticket from the driver.
