GOOCHA
Read moreBeing so close to the sea awakens the desire for fish and shellfish. And that's just the Goocha's specialty. You can sit on the terrace to enjoy the lively Dizengoff, one of the main shopping streets of the city, and spend a few pleasant hours, or lean over to the counter for a quicker break. The products are of quality and very honourably cooked. The place is always full and very lively in the evenings. The service is attentive and efficient, but the prices charged may be a little too expensive.
DR SHAKSHUKA
Read moreA well-known address in Jaffa, near the flea market, whose specialty comes to us from Libya: shakshuka, a pan-fried mixture of eggs, tomatoes, sausages (optional) and spices. You can also opt for the particularly hearty couscous, served with a variety of salads and bread, or the " chraime ", a casserole of fish and vegetables simmered Tripoli-style. The owner is a real (and monumental) character, so don't be surprised to see him cooking three pots of shakshuka at once with perfect dexterity!
OSTERIA DA FIORELLA
Read moreHosted by a family of Roman origin, this restaurant offers excellent traditional Italian cuisine. Fiorella sauce, based on four cheeses, tomatoes and vodka is a treat. Like cheesecake.
CARMELA BANAHALA
Read moreIt is certainly one of the most charming places in the city. Situated in one of the pedestrian streets around Nahalat Binyamin, this bistro has something absolutely timeless. We also recommend to dinner couples in the small patio that is of crazy romanticism. There is a refined French and Mediterranean cuisine that changes according to the seasons. Curry soup and coconut milk, squid salad, sun and labaneh tomatoes, the «beef fillet and grilled fish with cumin, lemon and walnut paste are just a few of the dishes you can enjoy. And the list of wines is up to the top! If you are two or more, try the tasting menu that will be designed according to your tastes.
MARGOZA BAR
Read moreThis small unpretentious café is very nice. It is located in the heart of Jaffa, in the liveliest part of the old Arab city. You come here for its delicious and generous dishes to share with two, typical of the region, but especially for the relaxed atmosphere during the day and the festive atmosphere in the evening. In the evening, it is an ideal place to stop and quench your thirst. The outdoor tables are often crowded in the alley. Note also that it is busy, but that this does not affect its picturesque charm.
MIRAGE
Read moreThis pleasantly shaded café on the Park HaMesila promenade is an extension of Eyal Shani's famous Romano. It's therefore on the central side, on the border between the city center and the southern neighborhoods, while you'll find Romano in our Southern Neighborhoods section. We come here for coffee in the morning or chilled drinks in the evening, but also, and above all, to share the house's favorite small dishes: many vegan options, including the unavoidable and delicious roasted cauliflower, or the "tomato pile"!
