The village was created in 1972 and now has nearly 115 huts: sculptors, leather goods makers, weavers, dressmakers, jewellers... It is governed by internal regulations that provide that tourists should not be insisted on. You can therefore shop there more quietly than in Dakar.

C'est un assez gros village artisanal avec de nombreux artisans : principalement des sculpteurs. Il y a aussi des maroquiniers, quelques bijoutiers et des tailleurs. Un endroit où vous pourriez trouver des souvenirs à négocier, il ne semble pas avoir tellement de touristes qui y font un tour alors les prix seront surement faciles à négocier.
