Torreón, located at an altitude of 2,134 m, is basically a crossroads city that has grown to the point where it is now home to nearly one million inhabitants. Cotton is the source of the city's prosperity. It is spread out in abundance before entering Torreón, then in the form of large bales piled on trucks or in sheds. The rest is pure desert. The city of Torreón is not exceptional, but it does have some interesting museums. Coming from the state of Durango, it is especially a stopover to visit the biggest natural attraction of the region: Cuatro Ciénegas. If not, you should go on your way.
