MUSEO DE AGUASCALIENTES

In this beautiful neoclassical building from the 19th century, rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century, the works of local celebrities are on permanent display. Among the sculptures by Jesús F. Contreras (1866-1902), we should mention the replica of his sculpture "In spite of everything", a reference to the amputation of one of the sculptor's arms due to an infection; the original in marble is exhibited at the Museo Nacional de Arte of Mexico City. There are also paintings, engravings and drawings by Gabriel Fernández Ledezma (1900 - 1983) and works by Saturnino Herrán (1887 - 1918).
