MUSEO BALUARTE DE SANTIAGO

It is the only survivor of the nine forts that dotted the wall built in the seventeenth century to protect against sea attacks. This one, completed in 1635, is known as " el polvorín ". The main attraction is the presentation of a real treasure discovered at the mouth of the river by Raúl Hurtado, a fisherman who was eventually imprisoned for "theft from the nation" and died in poverty in 2018...
