It's so big for a city that's so small, it's designed to drain all the surrounding Indians. Their Catholicism, however, is very relative and filled with references to traditional pre-Christian beliefs. The central door is dominated by a giant statue of the Archangel Saint Michel, a sword of gold by hand, fighting the devil that you see falling ashore. On Easter Sunday, the church is full of parishioners, but the liturgy appears to echo less orthodox ceremonies.
