It is a tiny village created at the end of the 18th century for mining. You can visit one of the old tunnels next to the Templo de la Inmaculada Concepción. This church was inspired by Notre-Dame-de-Paris. Also worth mentioning is the Casa Parker museum, which contains the objects collected by the Parker family, an English family who came to Angangueo to supervise the proper functioning of the machines used in the mines. Overall, the village consists of only one (very) pretty street and Anguangueo is above all an ideal base for visiting the sanctuaries of the Mariposa Monarca.
