Founded in 1689 by Jesuit missionaries, this quiet town of moxo Indians, located 92 km west of Trinidad, has a unique culture. It is necessary to come on July 31, the anniversary of its foundation, to attend the celebration of the patron saint of the village, San Ignacio de Loyola. The Ichapekene Piesta, a colorful festival that blends indigenous and Jesuit traditions, has earned the village the title of "Folklore Capital of Beni". It has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2012. Don't miss a visit to the Jesuit church, which is over 250 years old. It has been restored several times.
