This theater was built to host performances of operettas and zarzuelas

This theater dates from the same period as the Government Palace. Its construction was in response to the city's need to host operetta and zarzuela performances. It was designed by the architect Domingo Camponovo as a replica of the "Scala de Milano" in Italy. Unfortunately, neither the interior decoration of the theater nor the upper part of the facade was completed. A vague air of exoticism envelops the building.

Ce bâtiment colonial possède une façade impressionnante, à l'orée du Parque Bolivar. L'intérieur est toutefois un peu moins exceptionnel. Il s'agit du théâtre principal de Sucre.
