30 km from Cochabamba. This Inca fortress (probably an administrative center) was built between 1460 and 1470, and includes no less than 17 buildings. It can be reached from the village of Sipe Sipe. The walk is as beautiful as the view, magnificent, on the valley of Cochabamba. Every year, on June 21, Willkakuti, the Aymara new year, is celebrated. On this occasion, lamas are sacrificed and their mouths are filled with coca leaves and alcohol to be offered to the Pachamama. The Kallawayas smear their faces with the blood of the animal for the rituals, then the meat is cooked and shared with the community.
