142 km from Cochabamba, on the road to Sucre. About 17,000 inhabitants. It is a very pretty village whose charming colonial architecture is one of the best preserved in the country and represents 90% of the buildings in the village. An earthquake in 1998 was almost fatal, but the buildings have been superbly restored. The seven colonial bridges are local landmarks, the main square is surrounded by Arabic style houses, the mill, and La Pajcha, a picturesque natural waterfall 30 meters high. A small museum also allows you to learn a lot about the history of coca in the Yungas.
