A typical Creole villa built at the end of the 18th century in the neoclassical style, Villa Rivière comprises a stone main building and a wooden facade with varangue and pilasters. On two levels, it combines all the canons of classical composition and presents a rare architectural authenticity. The villa, its outbuildings and garden have been listed as a Monument Historique since 1990. Four evening tours of the Villa Rivière and its garden, illuminated by candlelight and torches, are offered one Saturday a month from September to July.

Visite très bien menée, en costume et flambeaux. C'était très intéressant, d'autant que j'ai fréquenté le cabinet médical qui y était installé il y a plusieurs annees. La maison a été rénovée avec goût et respect historique. A voir absolument
