Built in the 18th century, it dominates the harbor with its 2 bell towers... But it didn't escape the eruption of 1902 and was destroyed. Thanks to the financial support of Victor Depaz, it was rebuilt in 1923. A vast restoration project completed in 2024 has restored the cathedral to its former glory, with a broad white façade topped by 2 towers. Contemporary artist Victor Anicet designed the entrance windows.

Reconstruction
Des panneaux pédagogiques retracent l'histoire de cette cathédrale, surtout depuis l'éruption, avec la partie haute reconstruite (moins haut, du coup, que la même partie originale). On voit des photos avant / après c'est à dire première et deuxième version de l'édifice.
