To visit the Maison La Mauny estate is to enter the heart of Martinique's Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée rum production. Take the little train around the large estate, which has been located in the Rivière-Pilote countryside since 1749. The famous "Tèt' Maré" tells you a few anecdotes, traditions and other historical facts about the site. Your guide will then take you inside the distillery, where you'll discover the different stages in the production of AOC Martinique agricultural rums. You'll be one of the lucky ones if you come during the harvest period (usually between February and May, depending on the year) to see all the excitement of the authentic distillery.
The last stop, a visit to the cellar, allows you to appreciate the art of blending and ageing old rums orchestrated by Daniel Baudin, renowned cellar master. Finally, the Cabane à Rhum team will accompany you as you taste our various rums and liqueurs. For those with a sweet tooth, take a gourmet break at Kay Mimi, located at the foot of the distillery, or before heading, for example, to the charming beach of Anse Figuier, just 10 minutes away.
Finally, your non-French-speaking friends can get on board the little train and follow the whole tour thanks to the application available in English, Spanish, Italian and German (don't forget the headphones). Fun, bilingual content is also available on the interactive Rhum Box screen.

Opening time and information on DOMAINE MAISON LA MAUNY
Open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5.30pm (excluding the annual closing period: 2 weeks in September). Guided tours by mini-train at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm (duration of the tour: about 40 minutes). Rates: 8 €/adult, 6 €/adult in a group (10 pers. minimum), 4 €/child from 4 to 12 years old, free for children under 4 years old.

Malheureusement, nous n’avons pas dû tomber sur le bon guide :
- il avait une conduite du train trop rapide et surtout des freinages dangereux.
Il a pilé à deux reprises notamment une fois pour discuter avec un monsieur situé sur le bord de la route.
Son freinage a entraîné les enfants au sol notamment notre petite qui s’est blessée au visage en cognant les sièges en fer présents devant nous. Même pas une excuse malgré les pleurs des enfants!
- Nous avons été nombreux à trouver qu’il était là sans réelle motivation, il a fait le tour rapidement de l’exploitation et il récitait sa leçon sans aucune conviction.
- Une façon de s’exprimer très directive (pas très agréable et peu courtoise).
On a vu mieux dans les exploitations de La Martinique.
Sincèrement, je trouve regrettable d’avoir dû mettre un avis comme celui-ci mais je préfère que les futurs clients soient prudents s’il tombe sur ce personnage.
