Nestled in lush vegetation, the estate also offers a unique visual and sensory experience. The architectural ensemble, including the old distillery and its outbuildings, blends harmoniously into this enchanting setting.
Don't miss a visit to the Remarkable Garden: a five-hectare botanical park where water is omnipresent, sculpting the landscape through waterfalls, pools and streams. A veritable sanctuary of biodiversity, this garden is a haven for numerous plant and animal species.
The experience continues with a tour of the historic cellars, followed by the boutique featuring works by local and Caribbean artists.
A new initiative at l'Habitation is the planting of cocoa trees to explore the art of chocolate. Original workshops offer an introduction to cocoa trees, followed by gourmet pairings of rum and chocolate. A not-to-be-missed visit for lovers of refined, authentic experiences. Since 1994, Florette and José Hayot have been giving new impetus to the HSE estate located in the heart of Martinique. They perpetuate the ancestral knowledge within their production which is declined with the traditional white rum, recognized for its freshness and its typicity, the rums of assembly such as the VSOP and the XO regularly rewarded and the Expert Casks vintage. The Habitation shop offers a wide choice of products as well as free tastings. Take the opportunity to stroll in front of the permanent or temporary exhibitions honouring famous artists.

L'intérêt consiste uniquement à pouvoir déguster et acheter (à des prix nettement plus intéressants) les produits HSE, et notamment les nombreuses variétés de rhum vieux, parfois introuvables ailleurs. L'accueil à la boutique a été de plus très sympathique. Les explications sur les saveurs et l'art d'apprécier les subtilités aromatiques sont très intéressantes. La boutique est agrémentée d'un espace d'exposition d'œuvres d'art.
Peut en définitive constituer une courte halte lors d'une ballade mais pas une destination à elle seule.
