Created in July 2018, the Aimé Césaire Foundation is dedicated to perpetuating the memory and vision of the writer Aimé Césaire. The former house, where the poet and politician lived during the last forty years of his life, is now a museum retracing his career, his knowledge and his convictions that led to the promotion of the "Negritude" that he defended so much. The old house, which over the years has suffered the ravages of the climate, is currently being renovated. The foundation is active and is involved in numerous cultural events.
