Preserving natural sites along the shores of metropolitan France and overseas is the mission of the Conservatoire du Littoral. To do this, it acquires spaces, which it then hands over to local authorities and the associations that maintain them. Martinique's 400-kilometre long, very indented coastline offers varied landscapes and ecosystems of exceptional quality. Approximately 2,000 hectares are placed under the protection of the Conservatoire du Littoral de Martinique. Populated with remarkable flora and fauna, these protected sites are accessible to the public, thanks to the development of numerous trails for the discovery of natural and cultural heritage.
