A space promoting arts and heritage, with a scenography recreating prehistoric and historic periods.
This space for promoting the arts and heritage is a major point of interest for cultural tourism. This innovative historical exhibition concept acts as a time machine, combining contemporary art and heritage objects over 450m2. The original scenography reconstructs each historical period in chronological strata: "Pre-Columbian civilizations", "Freebooters and piracy", "Early colonization", "Creole interiors from the 18th to the 20th century" and "The 1940s". This recently enriched permanent exhibition, entitled "4,000 Years of History", features a large collection of West Indian furniture in a Creole villa set in a tropical garden. All mixed with contemporary artworks by renowned West Indian and international artists. Félie-Line Lucol, Thierry Alet, François Piquet, Jean-Marc Hunt, Bénito, Yeswoo and more than 50 artists from around the world are united around 350 works in the 2,000m2 landscaped park, which houses sculptures and installations. An extension offers temporary exhibitions that change every month, as well as an artistic residency. The artists featured are local and international painters and sculptors. An eco-citizen boutique also sells beach wear, local products, and bags and accessories made from sail and recycled materials. It promotes the Terre d'Azur humanitarian medical association, whose products it sells.

KREOL WEST INDIES is a gallery with two locations, one in Grand-Bourg on Marie-Galante and the other in Saint-François in Guadeloupe, totaling over 500 square meters of exhibition space. With more than 50 artists and 300 works of art on display, it is one of the largest art galleries in the Caribbean. Its vocation is to promote the arts and Creole heritage. The historical tour presented with an original scenography takes you through each era in chronological order, from pre-Columbian civilizations to the 1940s. You will discover more than 100 contemporary works by local painters and Haitian masters. In addition, KREOL WEST INDIES has the largest collection of Creole heritage objects, covering all periods from 2000 to +2000 years, making it the largest collection of its kind in the world. These pieces are not for sale. Overall, this is an interesting visit for anyone interested in Caribbean art and heritage.
