Cistern of the Soufrière massif, a volcanic crater with a small lake and beautiful views of the mountains and ocean.

Starting from the Bains Jaunes, this 4 km round trip walk leads you to the cistern of the Soufrière massif. The path starts with the partly tarred Pas du Roy trail which evolves in a dense tropical vegetation. Once out of the forest, you will have the choice of continuing towards the summit of the volcano or going to the cistern. At an altitude of 1,103 metres, this volcanic crater is home to a small lake and offers beautiful views of the mountains and the ocean. From here, you can turn back or join one of the many other hikes in the massif.

Bien sûr, ce n'est pas le pic de la Soufrière... mais la promenade est beaucoup plus facile et par temps découvert offre de magnifiques paysages au loin et sur la Soufrière, justement.

Faisant parti du package "Soufrière" à mon avis. La Citerne est le nom de la petite station au pied de la Soufrière où les antennes médias ont choisi d'implanter leurs antennes vu le dégagement spectaculaire dont jouit l'endroit. Une vue à couper le souffle entre odeurs soufrées et rafales intenses quand le brouillard s'en mêle. Les cratères qui ont formés des petites étangs autour sont très beaux à voir également.

Like many place in Guadeloupe landscapes are magnificent.

This walk is very welcoming no need for particular physical condition. Enjoy the baths heat in height. Water temperature 30°C.
