Slave cemetery with a dozen unmarked earthen graves surrounded by lambis conches, topped by a cross.
Near the Bois-Debout dwelling, following a small path in poor condition, you come to an engraved stele bearing the inscription: "À la mémoire de nos ancêtres esclaves. Honor and Respect". Only this stele can tell you that this is the site of a slave cemetery. Here, a dozen unmarked earthen graves are surrounded by lambis conches, topped by a cross with the head facing Africa. A modest place of remembrance, which recalls, not without emotion, the period of colonization and slavery.

Un lieu unique en Guadeloupe. Un bond dans le temps à travers ses tombes complètement atypiques et sobres. De simples mottes de terre entourées de conques de lambi, le tout surmonté de croix. Un autre cimetière totalement créole et dépaysant avec celui de Morne-à-l'eau.
