Pointe de la Grande Vigie invites you to take a stroll along a path where you can discover the beautiful scenery, one of the wildest sites in the West Indies.

From Anse-Bertrand, signs point the way to the cliffs (about six kilometers). This is the extreme northern cape of the Grande-Terre region. The road leading to it is dotted with superb viewpoints. Quite often, you'll be tempted to stop the car to take the perfect photo... only to discover that the panorama is even more dazzling a few dozen metres further on. In the parking area there's a stall for tourists (drinks, snacks, souvenirs...). From here, you can't see anything yet, but the sound of the waves begins to be insistent, and encourages you to get closer... The walk proves to be fairly easy, although the path is rocky in places. The path leads you through some unusual landscapes. As you advance, the horizon slowly appears, the coastline thickens and, suddenly, the mass of limestone rocks rises up in a succession of peaks. A more impressive sight than its moderate altitude (around 90 m high) would suggest. A wild sea spits out lacy, foaming waves. Anyone familiar with the Pointe du Raz in Brittany or the Normandy coastline will be familiar with this sensation and emotion. This end of the world is one of the wildest sites in the West Indies. On a clear day, the Pointe de la Grande Vigie offers a panoramic view of the more distant islands of Désirade, Montserrat and Antigua.
