Nestled in the centre of the village, this hotel-restaurant has been a family business for generations. The interior is modern and pleasant and you can enjoy traditional cuisine and the chef's specialities: pounti with prunes, entrecôte de salers with blue cheese or gentian, truffade, pan-fried foie gras escalope, scallops... and the home-made millefeuille. For those who wish to spend the night, the rooms are beautiful, modern and comfortable. An ideal stopover in the heart of the Cantal and very close to the Puy Mary and other peaks.

Sur mon parcours sur le GR400, je garderai un excellent souvenir de ma halte à l'hôtel du Genêts d'or. Le cadre, l'accueil, les services tout est parfait. Je recommande et je reviendrai.

Très bon accueil, notre groupe a été logé en partie dans l’hôtel et en partie dans le gîte de l’hôtel, idéal pour nous avec cuisine, frigo et petite terrasse.
Les repas du soir etaient excellents à base de peoduits frais, et la truffade parfaite après une longue journée de rando. Les desserts sont delicieux, et la brioche tiède au petit déjeuner en a ravi plus d’une.
L’épicerie attenante à l’établissement est parfaite pour l’organisation des piques niques.
Mandailles est un joli village où il fait bon vivre, et nous nous sommes senties comme à la maison aux Genêts d’Or.
