The oil mill, restored after 40 years of inactivity, is undoubtedly one of Chanaz's most important sites. Built in 1868, it now allows, by returning to service, to discover a profession of the past, in danger of disappearing, that of millmaker. The mill's bucket wheel, tirelessly driven by the water of the Biez, sets in motion the gears that turn the millstone... Nuts and hazelnuts deliver through this mechanical game the precious oil that gourmets appreciate. It is always good to know that in addition to their refined taste, these oils also have preventive properties regarding cardiovascular diseases....

Très joli petit site !
Arrivés un peu avant la fermeture, c'est dommage. Mais nous avons eu le temps de prendre quelques petits produits du moulin. On peut monter aussi un peu plus haut sur les côtés pour mieux le voir, ou sous un angle différent. Accueil agréable, pas avare de renseignements ! A voir !

Très joli petit moulin, très bien restauré et en activité. C'est toujours un réel plaisir de rencontrer des artisans passionnés par leurs métiers et qui aiment le faire partager. Le patron nous explique la transformation de la noix/noisette en huile tout en assurant sa production et la patronne nous vend avec le sourire huiles , farines et produits dérivés. Une belle découverte sur les hauteurs du village
