Castle on a peninsula in Lanobre, the tympanum of the entrance door bears a bas-relief with the arms of the Estaing family.

The building we see today was built in the 15th century on the foundations of a 13th-century fortress overlooking the Dordogne. Since the construction of the dam in 1951, the château has stood on a peninsula, evoking a certain similarity with the land of Scotland. Val consists of a main building flanked by six towers topped with pepper-pots. The tympanum of the entrance door is adorned with a bas-relief depicting the coat of arms of the d'Estaing family. In the film Le Capitan, Jean Marais climbs one of the towers. The château is illuminated on summer evenings.

Très beau château dans un cadre naturel époustouflant. Le chateau est sur plusieurs étages avec de belles pièces à visiter et des expositions artistiques. Possibilité de visites guidées ou visites libres. Je recommande.

Ein hübscher kleiner Ort, ein hübsches kleines Schloss, im Shop gibt es einen kleinen Nebenraum mit einer sehr interessanten Präsentation von Postkarten und Postern vieler verschiedener Künstler, die das Schloss gemalt haben: gleiches Motiv aus individuellen Perspektiven ????????Toll. Auch in der Schlosskapelle gab es eine sehr informative (kostenfreie) Ausstellung mit alten Fotos zur Entstehung des Stausees. Außerdem: Der Badestrand neben dem Schloss ist familientauglich und wunderbar (am besten einen Sonnenschirm mitbringen).

De quoi en prendre pleins les yeux. De plus vous avez à disposition un coin pour vous ravitailler.
Jeux gonflable sur l'eau, accrobranche, plage. Pour les fan de jet ou bien Pédalo .
