It is not because the stove is Portuguese that you will necessarily eat Portuguese at Essalois hostel. Of course there is the house specialty, cod, prepared in all its forms (oven, head, chunks) and leitao (milk pig), but this restaurant also offers traditional French cuisine. In summer, treat yourself to your frogs'thighs, or grilled gambas, accompanied by a compound salad, with a terrace overlooking the castle of Essalois. Aside from the season, you can enjoy the calm of the spacious interior room where you can also enjoy birthdays, weddings, baptisms or family meals.

Large doubt about the quality and freshness of food. Association over surprising (riz+canard+fromage grated?!) A our arrival the aperitifs were already served on the tables (hygiene?) For avoids, a shame because the site (outdoor) is magnificent, unlike the deco interior. Right to have a tea or coffee good (water is pulp at least)

Super location and landscape but for the rest... During this association was planned prawns in the salad Ocean that we do not have views. The worse duck breast provided at the menu was replaced by chicken!

Staff and welcoming manager not very - very poor Value For Money. You can judge:

25€ for:

- gourmet tea: a slice of fake foie gras served on toast and bed salad (sachet): little taste

- Gratin (5) frogs: dry - Little taste

The " question; Did that rain you Hello Everyone? " Do not meet especially by the negative! You engage your responsible for the suite for the meal!

- Fillet of beef (needless to ask cooking): dish served as pot-au-feu type (poor fillet... if it is a net): I AI STOP MY LUNCH AFTER THE FIRST SUN-DRENCHED

Here is my meal ends here I did not try the dessert!

And wine:

Portuguese white wine with... 16€ bottle (9° - Bottle served on already open table - Little, not even taste) Needless to ask the opinion of the waiter on the quality of the wines!

A bottle of Rasteau (actually a bottle of côtes du rhône... the Cellars of Rasteau
