Petit Futé's opinion on CHEESE MARKET
The cheese market is worth a visit. Built in 1890 and modified since, it evokes the importance of the cheese industry in the Cantal, the only department to have five Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée cheeses: Cantal, Salers, Bleu d'Auvergne, Saint-Nectaire, Fourme d'Ambert. It is the last building built for this purpose that remains in Europe. This element of industrial heritage will allow you to discover an exhibition of old objects of rural life in the Cantal. Also very nice cheese shop. Close to the Gravier car park. To be seen.
