Remains of an ancient wall at Ottrott, one of Europe's most important megalithic monuments.

This wall, with its strange construction method where specialists have failed to recognize either Gallic or Roman techniques, is made of huge, badly squared blocks joined by tenons with dovetail ends and no trace of mortar. It's one of Europe's most important megalithic monuments! Even today, no scientist has been able to date its exact origin or define its original function. For some, its foundation dates back to the ^2nd century BC; for others, it is much earlier or more recent.

Nous avons organisé en famille une randonnée en longeant le mur païen qui nous a fortement impressionné. Cette construction entourant le Mont Sainte-Odile nous transporte à une autre époque. Le chemin est facile d’accès, bien indiqué et la promenade est très agréable.
