More than just a curiosity, a visit to the Saint-Bernard dog farm is an excellent idea for a family outing. Originally used as a watchdog by the canons of the Grand Saint-Bernard hospice on the Swiss-Italian border, popular legend soon had it that this large mountain dog carried a small barrel of brandy around its neck, supposedly to rescue avalanche victims. Since 1993, Jean-Pierre and Renée have opened the doors of the largest Saint-Bernard breeding farm in the Alps to the public.

On Google my businesses the closing time is 5:30pm ; we drove 50 min and we arrived at 4pm but they were closed and didn’t want to receive us. My little boy was so disappointed.

Une visite passionnante par un éleveur passionné par ses chiens. Nous avons découvert l'histoire du Saint Bernard, ses missions passées et ses caractéristiques. Les chiens sont chouchoutés et heureux. Nous sommes ravis de cette visite. Il est à noter que les visites cesseront à partir d'octobre 2023 donc n'hésitez pas à vous y rendre avant pour profiter de ce moment.

Chouette visite, on apprend beaucoup sur cette race des chiens. Les chiens sont très bien entretenus. Allez-y, c’est la dernière année que cet élevage fait des visites.
