More than just a curiosity, a visit to the Saint-Bernard dog farm is an excellent idea for a family outing. Originally used as a watchdog by the canons of the Grand Saint-Bernard hospice on the Swiss-Italian border, popular legend soon had it that this large mountain dog carried a small barrel of brandy around its neck, supposedly to rescue avalanche victims. Since 1993, Jean-Pierre and Renée have opened the doors of the largest Saint-Bernard breeding farm in the Alps to the public.

Opening time and information on ST BERNARD BREEDING

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 11.30am. Low season: every day from 2pm to 5pm. High season: every day from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. High season: school holidays and July-August. Closed on Sunday morning and Monday morning Closed on Sunday and Monday morning. Adult: €5.50. Child (from 5 to 12 years old): €3.80. Guided tour (1am on average). Shop.

Très déçu

Personnel peu accueillant nous signalant que la visite n existe plus depuis 2023. Dommage une heure de route pour rien.la visite n étant pas annulée sur le site

Intéressant pour présenter cette race historique aux enfants.

Le seul chien en liberté, après vu la taille on peut comprendre qu'ils ne prennent pas le risque de tous les lâcher en présence du publique et d'enfants (même si il ne mordent pas, ça reste plusieurs dizaines de kilos qui peuvent bousculer même un adulte), présenté avec son mythique tonneau

Tenu par une jeune femme très sérieuse et passionné par son métier, elle s'est très bien occupé de notre Border Collie. Le cadre est vraiment propice et sympa pour que nos animaux s'y sente bien. Allez y les yeux fermés!
