An animal park which is unusual in the quantity and diversity of its inhabitants, to be discovered in Les Houches.

Chamois, mouflons, ibex, marmots, fallow deer, hinds and even llamas! The Merlet wildlife park stands out for the sheer number and diversity of its inhabitants. At an altitude of 1,563 m, the Cachat family is at the helm of this mountain safari created in 1968. Enjoy the freedom of a 20-hectare estate and meet the most famous animals of the Alps and the Andes. Allow 20 minutes to reach the park entrance, then choose between 2 circuits: one complete, lasting 2 to 3 hours, the other easy, lasting one hour. Snowshoeing available in winter, by prior arrangement.

Nous sommes montés à pied depuis la gare des Houches 500m de dénivelés. Nous avons pu rentrer sans réservation (en récupérant le code en cours de route)et cela nous a fait pour 4 personnes 20€. Accueil très sympathique. Beau parc avec tous les animaux des Alpes avec en plus de très beaux points de vues sur le massif du Mont Blanc.

L accès des parkings en voiture est difficile, il y a vraiment très tres peu d animaux, le plus grand tour il faut 1 h en marchant lentement . Le Point positif est le restaurant et la vu sont magnifiques.
