Church dating from the 13th century with a remarkable decoration in Contamines-Montjoie, one of the jewels of the Baroque Path.

This church, dating from the 13th century and then rebuilt in the 17th century, is one of the jewels of the Baroque Trail with its white façade enhanced by the colours and statues of its remarkable décor. An unavoidable place of passage in the perilous ascent of the Bonhomme pass, Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge offers in this end of the world a place of rest, beauty and incomparable serenity. You can also admire the natural site that you walk through during the August procession that continues to attract many pilgrims every year on August 15.

Notre Dame de la Gorge est une église typique de la région avec ses jolies fresques colorés au bout d'une route en "cul de sac". Accès facile en voiture. Point de départ de randonnées dont "le chalet du Truc" qui offre une superbe vue sur les Contamines Montjoie non sans efforts (pont romain, cascades et vue). proches d'un espace aménagé pour les sports et loisirs. Restauration possible dans les périodes d'ouvertures liées aux vacances. Joli coin pour se promener.
