END OF LAKE NATURE RESERVE
Reserve home to a wide variety of habitats and animal species, and an educational trail to visit the Beauvivier tower.
At the southern end of Lake Annecy, the Bout-du-Lac nature reserve protects one of the last large wetlands on the lake's shores, classified since 1974. Between reedbeds, alluvial forests and wet meadows, the site recounts 20,000 years of natural history and is home to a varied fauna, from the grey heron to the discreet beaver reintroduced in 1972. A pathway on stilts, lined with educational panels, leads visitors to the medieval Beauvivier tower.
