Interpretation Center of the Contraband in Mountain where it is good to go back in time in the history of Châtel.
At the Old Customs House, the Centre d'Interprétation de la Contrebande en Montagne which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2022, we go back in time in the history of Châtel. When the border village was not yet a resort with lifts linking the two countries and when smugglers were cunning in crossing the summits without being caught by the "gabelous" (police and customs officers). An original and surprising look at the village and its strategic place, as well as its inhabitants. Animations during the summer: investigation games, secret operations...

Chasse aux contrebandiers
Une autre approche du monde de la montagne et ses histoires. Chätel ne se trouve qu'à quelques kilomètres e la SUISSE et en skis, on passe rapidement d'un pays à l'autre sans même s'en rendre compte. Cette particularité allait susciter des "vocations" particulières et répréhensibles avec la contrebande de tabac, de café et même de cloches de vaches, narrés dans ce joli petit musée. Il est bien conçu, avec une partie ludique, faite de petites énigmes, et la présentation de toutes les marchandises fraudées.
