Private mansion in the city center, commissioned by the Genas family, a family of merchants who became rich through the salt trade.
This town centre mansion was built from 1522 in molasse, commissioned by the Genas family, a family of traders enriched by the salt trade. Acquired in 1760 by François Dupré La Tour, hence its name, the house was sold to the city by his descendants in 1989. From the street, a corridor leads to a cramped inner courtyard. Its three floors are served by a spiral staircase housed in a turret with a remarkable Renaissance-style sculpted decoration with characters and mythological scenes. Although its entrance portal is still visible, the turret is only possible during guided tours and on heritage days.
