La Ferme aux Crocodiles continues to evolve and develop in a Tropical Reserve concept, with 1,200 animals (350 crocodilians, monitor lizards, giant tortoises, as well as snakes and fish) including 150 free-flying birds. An immersive tour with glass pontoons and observation bays makes for a unique experience. With almost 300,000 visitors a year, it's the most popular tourist site in the département. This animal park, unique in Europe, combines a 10,000 m² landscaped greenhouse with 600 exotic plants and a 4,000 m² open-air trail. Flora and fauna make up a site of great biodiversity, colonized by animal and plant species in their element. A veritable botanical garden, the Réserve Tropicale boasts 600 exotic plants, allowing visitors to discover a botanical park. It is home to an extraordinary collection of aromatic plants, fruit trees, aquatic plants, spices and giant herbs. All this flora creates natural habitats for the animal species present on the site. To make the most of your visit, come and discover! The Crocodile Farm is like a warm country. This immense tropical greenhouse offers a fascinating introduction to the world of crocodilians via a fun and educational trail. And on the outside, check out the River Monsters. Wij bezochten de "krokodillenboerderij" op een bloedhete dag. Het park is grotendeels in een hele grote kas. Dus geen warme zon op onze hoofden gehad. In de kas is het wel warm maar dat is te doen.
Ze hebben er echt heel veel krokodillen. Daarnaast zijn er ook vogels, slangen, vissen, schildpadden, geitjes, bloemen, planten en leguanen.
Er is een duidelijke route en de kinderen krijgen een soort paspoort waarbij ze stempels (pons) moeten verzamelen op de route. Op de route zijn ook verschillende quizvragen in het Nederlands.
Op ongeveer 75% van de route kom je bij het restaurant. Daar hebben we een heerlijke lunch op. Er was wel een redelijk lange rij. De jongste had in de tussentijd zijn been zeer gedaan en we vroegen om een pleister. Een medewerker heeft hem heel lief en goed behandeld. Nadat hij klaar was kreeg hij een klein poppetje. Super lief!
De lunch aten we op een overdekt terras buiten met watermist (heerlijk!). De kids konden ondertussen spelen in de speeltuin, pas op! Glijbaan is heet.
Daarna de route afgemaakt en aan het einde kom je in de winkel. Er is een groot assortiment aan zooi ;).
Al met al raad ik deze boerderij aan. Kids hebben het er echt naar hun zin gehad.
Altijd leuk om iets van de krokodillen bij te leren en er zijn ook andere dier soorten zoals: slangen en schildpadden.
Leuk dat je er kan eten en heel lekker.
