BOTANICAL VILLAGE
Village in La Chapelle-en-Vercors with massifs spread throughout the village in a profuse variety, covering the slopes.
La Chapelle-en-Vercors has been a botanical village in the Drôme since 2012, and its theme is "mountain perennials", herbaceous plants adapted to wide temperature variations, which are reborn in spring. The beds are spread throughout the village in an abundant variety, carpeting the embankments, emerging from the rocky outcrops, playing with light and shade, like so many colorful little gardens. They are cared for by volunteers from the Lou Vioulé association. Detailed fact sheets on the perennials in the collection are available from the Tourist Office.
