In Drôme provençale, near Grignan, la Moutière is an 18th century bastide surrounded by outbuildings. The 2 hectare property is bordered by a river, a stream and is crossed by a canal with a water wheel. During its history, it was a place to unwind silkworm cocoons, a pottery, a tannery and, from 1964, a family home for holidays. Since July 2009, La Moutière has opened its doors to welcome you all year round in its rooms and gîtes with warm and distinguished decorations.

Francoise is een geweldige gastvrouw. Ze zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen welkom voelt en heeft mooie verhalen over de historie van de plek. Alles is netjes en goed verzorgd. Wij sliepen in een van de kamers, lekker ruim en schoon, en ’s ochtends genoten we buiten van een heerlijk ontbijt in de zon.
Zwembad is top, lekker om na een dagje op pad even af te koelen. De omgeving is trouwens ook prachtig — veel leuke dorpjes in de buurt en genoeg te doen.
Kortom: dikke aanrader. Wij komen hier zeker nog eens terug!
