Green, calm and running water... This is the ideal place for a jog, a short hike with friends or a picnic on the grass with the family in the sun. The Bois des Naix - the second largest urban park in the Rhône-Alpes region with its 12 hectares - is a particularly pleasant area of the city, wild but well maintained, with its venerable trees and its many varieties of plants. Dormant since the 1950s, this wood was completely redeveloped in the early 2000s, with playgrounds for children, hard ping-pong tables, a beautiful health trail for athletes with 17 apparatus and wooden walkways, a 5 km path through the wood and its valley of flowers. The presence of the Charlieu, a romantic stream whose banks can be followed all the way to the Isère, adds to the charm of the site. It is a pleasure to join the Isère, its ducks, its reeds and its new pedestrian bridge that connects Romans to the other bank. We appreciate the fact that this park is open all year round and, throughout the summer, with wide opening hours. To preserve the tranquility of the site, motor vehicles, bicycles, dogs and... ball games are forbidden on the site. Of course, fires are also prohibited. Forget the snowy episode of 2019, which had uprooted many trees. The wood has now healed its wounds. But as every year the wood is closed in January to make itself beautiful again.

Only a few weeks that I have Village of Toll and J already discovered the beauty of Bois de Naix. I find, is magnificent with century-old trees. Do is a perfect place for all the family, who like to do sports, walk or relax.
