SQUARE LALANDE
A verdant square, surrounded by silver lime trees, housing sculptures that refer to astronomy and its values.
It's hard to miss this triangle of greenery, with its statue of the astronomer Jérôme Lalande and sculptures on either side referring to astronomy and its values. This place of relaxation already existed in the Middle Ages under the name of Place de l'Orme or Place de la Justice, as people used to come here to watch the tortures. Today, the square is surrounded by silver lime trees and features a long flowerbed, a rare American February tree, a wrought-iron balustrade and children's play areas. It's also a popular venue for Fête de la Musique concerts.
