Pernes-les-Fontaines lies south of Mont Ventoux, in the plain at the foot of the Monts du Vaucluse, between Carpentras and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Its architectural heritage is remarkable, with ramparts, mansions and 41 working public fountains. The town has preserved its history and traditions, with some monuments converted into museums.
