An absolutely magical experience here with my parents. I felt like I had snuck into an amazing mansion and traveled back in time to the 17th century. The rooms are truly enormous and so beautifully appointed in period decor. It feels lovingly lived in, a “European renovation” so it’s not gutted and perfect the way a new hotel would be but therein lies the charm. I booked two of the only four they have - Nancy and Eleanor - which worked well because they were in their own area across a sitting room filled with books. The common areas are a massive library, cozy parlor, stunning dining room and period kitchen where breakfast awaits you each morning. (Some of the best croissants I’ve ever had!) even the broom closet is lovely - I’m not joking, so be sure to check it out! There is no staff on site which truly makes it feel like you just happen to live there, but despite no staff on site you have everything you need from wifi to sun hats to umbrellas. It’s set down on a cobblestone street on the top of the hill (those will mobility issues should be aware) so the views from the massive windows are incredible. Fresh jasmine growing everywhere even makes it smell amazing. If you’re up for adventure and a lover of antiques - this is the place for you.
